AREA FORUM/WARD GRANTS | |
Matter for Consideration: To consider applications under the Area Forum/Ward Grants Schemes. | |
Information: The Council's delegated budgets scheme allocates budgets of £20,000 to each Ward and the Area Forums have been awarded budgets equivalent to £7,500 per ward covered for the financial year 2013/2014. The funding for either scheme can be spent on supplementing funding public services, for the benefit of the local community. Cherry Tree Area Forum has requested: (i)£5,000 to Bostonway Residents Association for funding towards a project to widen the access roads on Bostonway to allow easier access for residents and emergency services. (ii)£1,000 to The Cherrytree Allotment Association as a donation to improve the roads within the site for wheelchair users, mobility scooters and families with pushchairs. (iii)£2,250 to Lancashire Association of Boys and Girls Clubs for funding for activities for young people provided by the “Club2go” Mobile Youth Club. (iv)£3,500 as funding for 10 Woodland Litter Bins to be located next to benches on Herons Reach to help reduce litter in this area. (v)£2,530 to BEAT Limited as a donation to improve the habitat of Great Crested Newts on two sites in the Herons Reach area. (vi)£2,000 to Blackpool FC Premier League Kicks Project as a donation towards the purchase of sports equipment, sports venue costs and coaching staff costs. Parklands Area Forum has requested: (i)£1,000 to Vincent House as a donation to facilitate leisure activities and to purchase equipment and clothing to allow service users to participate in exercise, widen social networks, build self-esteem and confidence to improve mental health. (ii)£1,500 to The Layton Bee Project to establish a bee keeping and environmental project and an educational project for local children. Councillors Cross and Rowson of Ingthorpe Ward have requested £20,225.98 to fund a School 20 Zone Signing Scheme for all four schools in Ingthorpe Ward. Councillors Cox and Green of Squires Gate Ward have requested £750 as a donation to the Totally Transport Steering Group to assist with the costs associated with holding the Totally Transport event to be held on Sunday 22nd June 2014. | |
